In fact, there is no single correct answer to this question. An SMM specialist can work:

as a freelancer and manage several projects;
in the state of a specific brand;
at the agency.
The format of cooperation often determines the place of work, but not always. Everything is individual. For example, when an SMM specialist is a freelancer, then in most cases he works from home or any other point in the city/planet. Yes, he “visits” clients from time to time and shoots the necessary content. Sometimes (especially when it comes to the Western market) this specialist can work completely remotely, and the content maker or the company owner will shoot the photos/videos directly.

When a specialist works on the staff of one brand, it does not always mean sitting for 8 hours in the company's office or their establishment. Of course, this format is also possible. Working in an agency is a more complex format. Here, the "SMM specialist" does not choose his clients. The company provides him with projects and specific tasks that he must complete. Sometimes these are long-term agreements, but there is also a conveyor belt of clients. Do you need to work in the office? Again, there is no single answer. It depends on the communication format in the team. If the project manager and other specialists are always together and even in the same office, then it would not hurt for the SMM specialist to be with them too, in order to always be aware of all the nuances of the projects.

Minimum or millions? What is the salary of an SMM manager?
Everything, as everywhere, depends on experience and skills. If a person has just entered this sphere and does not yet have successful cases, it is unlikely that one should count on an income of $2000/month. However, over time, you can really have more 🙂

The format of work plays a significant role. To understand what you can hope for, let's look at the situation on the market for SMM specialists in agencies or in individual companies.
