What is the level of competition in my market? Am I one of many businesses offering similar goods/services in my neighborhood, or am I one of the only businesses in my industry here?
Google’s local pack radius will vary greatly based on the answers to these two questions. For example, if there are 100 tortilla bakeries in San Rafael, Google doesn’t have to go far to create a local pack for a searcher standing on Fifth Avenue with their mobile phone. But, if La Tortilleria is one of only three such businesses in the city, Google will have to reach further across the map to create that pack.
