it works for all projects

Post by jrineakter »

It's the same for everything. It's going to be the same for a podcast, for creating a course. If I focus on the result that I don't directly control, inevitably, I can lose confidence in myself, I can stress.

On the contrary, if I focus on myself, on what I can do and ultimately base my self-confidence on that, well it's much easier, ultimately, to have good self-confidence, since I'll be happy to have done my best.

I would be happy to have, for example, if we take my little example of the YouTube channel, I would say to myself: "OK. You did your best, you made a video per week for years, you tried to buy a slightly nicer camera, you made efforts to have better sound, you made sure to choose subjects that will better help the audience, you made sure to take a team of people who help you with the editing, etc." By focusing on that, on doing your best, well that gives you self-confidence, it already prevents you from losing self-confidence, but it gives you self-confidence.

And then it's up to us to do better, which is to say, not to be satisfied with what we're doing right now and say to ourselves: "OK. I've done my best so far, so I'm happy, I'm confident, and I france whatsapp number data have to do even better in the future." So, maybe, I don't know, I need to take more time to think of more original ideas for the channel. Maybe we need to rework the video thumbnails, maybe we need to rework the titles. But I keep control by doing that.

And I took on a project that is close to my heart since it is part of my daily life, but you understand that you can transpose what I just said to your personal situation, obviously. You can apply this to your learning of French. Rather than focusing on what others think, focus on the fact that others tell you: "Your pronunciation is not great in French, huh. Wow! You made a mistake there". No, if you focus on that, by definition, it is not in your power, so you risk being stressed and losing confidence in yourself.

Turn things around and tell yourself: "I'm going to focus on what I'm good at, on doing my best." For example, it's going to be, instead of focusing on what other people think, what other people say about my level of French, I'm going to focus on daily practice. That's my job. I focus on daily practice and on doing my best every time I have to speak French.

If you do this, you will see that you will have much more confidence in yourself, you will feel much less stress. And when we are less stressed and we speak in a foreign language, we are much more efficient, so you will gain confidence in yourself.

That's what I wanted to tell you today. I hope you enjoyed it. Don't hesitate to let me know. We'll have the opportunity to discuss all this again with the members of the Authentic French Academy. I have a live on Zoom tonight, as I'm recording this podcast, tonight, a live question and answer session in which members can ask me any question. And very often, members ask me about personal development and this type of concern. How can I have more confidence in myself? How can I better control my emotions? Etc. So, I'll be happy to answer members' questions this evening and your questions if you join us, since registration for the academy is open until July 12. The link is in the description.
