The moment has come

Post by Bappy11 »

Two years ago, Pelpina Trip published an update about Facebook testing hiding likes . The focus was mainly on removing or hiding likes on Instagram. These tests received both positive and negative reactions from users. That is of course not so strange, because not everyone uses social media for the same purposes.

Influencers were generally not charmed by the removal of likes. Their revenue model is/was often based on the number of likes a post received. In addition, the number of likes also shows whether a certain topic scores well or not with your target group.

Others were very positive about these tests. When you post something on Instagram, it should not be country email list about the amount of likes you get, but about the content you share. No more 'liking for the sake of liking', or 'liking because everyone else likes it', but liking something because you genuinely find it interesting.

Now the time has come: Facebook has made the decision and is rolling out new options for hiding likes on both Instagram and Facebook. But they have listened carefully to the wishes of the users: there are 4 different options:

Make all likes visible.
Hide all likes.
Only hide the likes on your own posts.
Hide the likes on other people's posts (in your timeline).
How do you turn off likes on Instagram?
