This is the third installment of the series, and this time we invited Masayoshi Sano as a guest to talk about the experiences you can gain from changing jobs and the type of talent you are looking for.

Instructor Profile
Masayoshi Sano
Masayoshi Sano,
CEO of SRI Inc. / Head of Career Center, Japan Direction Association

Born in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture in May 1978. After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at Musashi Institute of Technology (now Tokyo City University), he worked in the construction industry for one year before moving to the IT industry. After experiencing BtoC business in EC (retail), he worked for a systems development company. He was in charge of various development projects such as web, smartphone apps, Facebook apps, and corporate in-house systems. After
that, he promoted web marketing business with O2O (OMO) as the core of his business, and experienced campaigns and new service development mainly for national clients such as retail and distribution (AEON Retail, Circle K Sunkus (now FamilyMart)) and restaurants (Lotteria). In May 2019, he established SRI Co. , Ltd. and developed businesses centered on web and IT, such as marketing, CRM, campaigns, and new service development for major foreign restaurant companies, Nifty Lifestyle, and Excom Global.

What are the commonalities between the talent needed in the workplace?
The skills currently required in the workplace
The first half of the session began with Sano reflecting on his career. After graduating and working in the construction industry, Sano jumped into the web/IT industry despite having no prior experience, and broadened his field by moving to e-commerce, systems development, and web marketing (for more details, please see " Two Awarenesses and the Ability to Grasp the Essence that are Essential for the Growth of Web Directors ").

In 2019, he founded SRI Inc., and while currently working on projects for major clients, the topic shifted to "the kind of talent that is currently required in the field ." According to Mr. Sano, although the work content differs for each project, the "values" required are "almost the same" for every project.

Sano: The common premise is "how much you can contribute to the team." You are expected to have the ability to work together with those around you to push something forward. I get the impression that "active communication" and "logical thinking" are also required to demonstrate that ability.

Furthermore , when asked about the "skills currently required in the field ," he stated that "three to five years of direction experience is essential," and then delved deeper into the details, asking, "What kind of direction experience is required?"
