Easy Ways to Back Up Telegram Data to the Cloud

Post by soronikhatun45 »

Telegram is a cloud-based messaging app, which means most of your chats and media are already stored on Telegram's servers. However, if you want extra backups for personal control, offline access, or archiving purposes, here are some easy ways to back up your Telegram data to the cloud (like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive):

1. Use Telegram Desktop to Export Data (Then Upload to Cloud)
This is the most complete bahrain telemarketing data method to back up messages, media, and files.

🔧 Steps:
Download Telegram Desktop:

Log in using your Telegram account.

Go to:
Settings > Privacy and Security > Export Telegram Data

Choose what to export:

Personal chats

Group/channel messages

Media (photos, videos, documents)

Account info

Choose HTML or JSON format (HTML is easier to read; JSON is better for developers).

Click Export. A folder will be created with your data.

Upload this folder to:

Google Drive

Dropbox

OneDrive

iCloud Drive

Any other cloud storage service

Tip: Create a zip file of the exported folder to save space.

2. Automatically Sync Telegram Media to Google Drive (Android Only)
Telegram media (photos, videos, files) you download to your phone can be backed up using your Google account.

Steps:
Go to File Manager > Telegram folder.

Open Google Drive app.

Tap + > Upload > Browse and select the Telegram media folders:

Telegram Images

Telegram Video

Telegram Documents

To automate this:

Use an app like Autosync for Google Drive or FolderSync.

Set it to sync Telegram folders to a Google Drive folder.

This only backs up downloaded media, not full chat histories.

3. Use IFTTT or Zapier to Archive Telegram Messages
If you manage a Telegram bot or channel, you can use automation platforms like IFTTT or Zapier to send messages directly to cloud services.

Example:
New message in Telegram → Save to Google Sheets or Dropbox

This requires:

A Telegram bot or channel you manage

Connecting it with IFTTT/Zapier workflows

4. Manually Save Important Media to Cloud
For individual files:

Long-press on media in Telegram

Tap Share > Save to Drive or Share to OneDrive/Dropbox

For bulk media, use Telegram > Data and Storage > Storage Usage to see files and export what you need

5. Use Secret Chat Self-Export with Screenshots (Limited Use)
If you're using Secret Chats, remember:

They are only stored on-device and not backed up to Telegram cloud

Telegram does not allow export of Secret Chats

In that case:

Manually take screenshots

Save those to a cloud service (Google Photos, Drive, etc.)

Use this method only for personal reference — avoid sharing private conversations without consent.
