An optical robot separator with artificial intelligence, which was taught to sort aluminum cans, was introduced at the capital's waste processing complex. This was reported by the press service of the Moscow Department of Housing and Public Utilities.

The recognition accuracy is higher than that of a conventional separator, since the neural network is not so sensitive to the color of the object and relies more on its visual image.
As a result of the project's implementation, the amount of containers sent for recycling increased by 20 percent compared to last year, the Moscow City Services Complex reported.
