Bloomberg calls the study by Boston Consulting Group and Scoop Technologies on the impact of a company's work format on its growth rate the first major work in this area. As calculated by a member of the "big three" of global consulting, the revenue of a business with a fully remote work format has grown four times faster over the past three years than that of companies with a mandatory five-day office week: 21% versus 5% for the period from 2020 to 2022. Companies with a hybrid schedule - for example, two days in person and three remotely - grew twice as fast as traditional offices, but slower than fully remote competitors.

from technology to insurance, with a latvia whatsapp number database combined workforce of more than 25 million people, meaning the results are unlikely to be due to random variation. The numbers were also weighted by industry to ensure that faster-growing industries with higher remote workloads didn’t skew the results.

So, should we urgently switch to remote work? Business FM asked business representatives about this.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of VBC, founder of the business network TenChat Semyon Tenyaev: "I believe that such a study is like measuring the average temperature in a hospital, because there are a huge number of businesses that in no way relate to a hybrid or remote work format, their growth in no way correlates with such figures. Secondly, if we are talking about high-tech companies, the presence of a hybrid format or a remote format allows many "unicorns" to open up - companies that take off very quickly. On the one hand, this is incredibly effective for business, but on the other hand, it is not suitable for everyone. Transfer of experience, interaction with colleagues is difficult to convey online. Therefore, the truth is twofold."

Vladimir Fedotov, HR Director of the Chinese oil and gas company Wison Engineering: "Data on Chinese companies, in particular the companies I represent, show that more and more moments of concentration are spent working in the office. In our company, we tried different work options during the pandemic. And after it, we tested such approaches for several years. I cannot confirm the data presented that efficiency is growing several times, and, accordingly, based on this, revenue is growing several times, no. Moreover, I would like to confirm that more than 90% of Chinese companies work according to the standard office system, according to the standard work schedule."

Bloomberg notes that supporters of in-person employment have arguments. In a recent Mercer study, office workers showed higher rates of motivation and "involvement" in work than remote workers. In the BCG study, those companies where the employer allows employees to visit the office at their own discretion are also considered fully remote. According to the authors, the competitive advantage of such a business can be due to two factors. Firstly, remote vacancies attract many times more applicants from a larger number of regions and territories, that is, companies can recruit the best of the best. Secondly, a more comfortable work format allows you to retain personnel and not waste resources on replacing employees.

Independent HR expert Alexander Sivogrivov is optimistic:
"Thanks to the pandemic, everyone suddenly realized that for some roles or positions in companies it is not necessary to come to work every day. The ability and skills of company managers to set tasks correctly and control them correctly have improved. Secondly, video communication and text communication structure people's brains very well, people get used to speaking in absolutely clear phrases. On the other hand, it saves time. Back in Soviet times, I read a study called "Transport Fatigue". So, if a person spends more than an hour and a half commuting to work, his productivity decreases by 30-40% depending on the comfort of the trip. We have a huge country, now many people can work absolutely normally in any company in the country, while being in their favorite city. And this is a very serious step, I believe, this is a step towards the efficiency of the country. That is, it is not necessary to leave your home in order to, say, work in some federal company."

In Russia, the share of remote vacancies has started to grow again after the post-COVID decline, TAdviser writes, citing a new study by HH.ru. According to the platform's calculations, today almost 7% of ads, that is, every 14th vacancy, are remote, and almost 2% are hybrid.

The upward trend in both categories of employment is observed in all sectors except education, NGOs and political activities. There, the hybrid format is also growing, but remote employment is falling. The least remote employment is currently in the Russian public sector, mechanical engineering and
