Up to now we have only dealt with the domain name and have not given any weight to the extension which instead can play a crucial role in choosing the correct name.

The extension represents the suffix of every internet domain which can be .it , .com , .eu and many other extensions which mostly represent the ISO codes of every country in the world (IT for Italy, FR for France, BR for Brazil, etc.) but also new generic domains which can instead represent a category (.travel for tour operators, .pro for professionals, .coop for cooperatives, .gov.it for public administrations, etc.) or even other so-called generic domains ( .com , .net , .biz , etc.) which only vaguely indicate an area of expertise but denmark phone number list do not have any restrictions in terms of registration requirements.

The extension , we were saying, can have different uses.

The first thing that immediately catches the eye is the geographical location of our site; it will be natural for us to think that a site with the .es extension is from a Spanish company… WRONG! Or rather, it is not necessarily the case because if our friend Mario wanted to expand his user base and sell his shoes to Spanish customers, he could easily register his domain zapatos.es (“zapatos” means shoes in Spanish), put up a Spanish-language site so that the new users do not have translation problems and here he will be able to create a sort of “Spanish branch” with relatively little effort and without ever leaving his shop in Florence.

On the contrary, if you wanted to amplify your Tuscanness and with it the made in Italy that it represents in the world, you could instead opt for a third level regional domain of the type scarperossi.toscana.it or, in the case of addressing an international user base, rossishoes.tuscany.it, which are third level regional domains that you will certainly find free (since they are little known but not for this reason not as valid as the more famous .com etc.) and that will benefit you much more than others in terms of indexing your 100% Italian products.

With extensions you can also get puns that can make the name of the site more appealing and just to give some examples (but here too it is the imagination that dominates the choice and therefore each suggestion is only indicative) with existing sites: (NE is the extension of Niger), (NO is the domain of Norway) and so on for all the available global extensions.
