And I say paradox because the word "security" itself implies certainty, guarantee, one hundred percent (...), and we all know that total security, no matter how much prevention we have, does not exist . Hence the need for prevention, for the state of alert for any unforeseen event.
Well, talking about safety (prevention) at work, in employment, implies dealing with the subject with just that, with a lot of prevention , with a lot of prudence, although it is never too much. That is why I do not want to bother any of the professionals in the field who may read this writing with my next comments.
Returning to the subtitle of this text, I want to make it clear as a principle that security, properly understood, is a very particular matter. It begins with oneself and should have its origins in kindergarten itself ; as an integral part of our culture, understood in its broadest sense.
We cannot, and should not, leave this responsibility in the twitter data hands of third parties, although it is always good to have specialists who help us to better understand prevention and to apply well-developed techniques based on previous experiences, with the aim of ensuring that they are not repeated. Security management should be fully integrated into each of the phases of all management systems of any company or institution .
It is not enough for others to provide us with techniques and means of protection if we do not know how or do not want (which is much worse) to use them . If you do not worry (prevent) about your own safety, who will?
And I am not just referring to safety at work, but to the kind of safety we must apply throughout the twenty-four hours of the day and the three hundred and sixty-five days of the year. We must not forget that domestic accidents, and those in transit , are more frequent and, in general, more serious than those that occur in the workplace itself .
Continuing with the ideas that came to me at the beginning of the writing, I want to emphasize the slogan. Safety and Prevention (like the Treasury) is a matter for everyone . It is not enough to download all the responsibility for our safety on the heads or managers of the company or institution, or on the technicians responsible for the matter.
They are the ones who must ensure that the rules and regulations of the game are properly complied with , but it is society as a whole and the individuals who make it up who must collaborate to achieve a successful outcome by being alert to any deficiencies that may be evident and, in addition, suggesting measures that help reduce or alleviate the effects of poor prevention of any type of risk.
Each of us should act as voluntary prevention agents whenever we detect a situation of potential risk of incident or accident . Due to the brevity of this writing, I will not go into specific details, but I am sure that the eventual reader will remember some situation in which he or she has witnessed some type of deficiency that could give rise to a risk, in any area of his or her life.
