Easy entry of date values

Entering a date is child's play with the mouse: a few clicks and the date is selected in the calendar and entered in the cell. SeaTable automatically converts the date into the correct format. Entering data using the keyboard, on the other hand, was not quite as convenient. SeaTable insisted on the correct and complete syntax and did not tolerate any deviation.
With the new version, SeaTable is more tolerant of syntax and thus allows faster entry of date values via keyboard. The entry “2021-02-8” is correctly interpreted as 2021-02-08. A date hong kong rcs data entered as “2020-1-1” is saved by SeaTable as 2020-01-01 without further prompting. The same of course applies to European and US date formats: SeaTable correctly converts the entry “1/1/2020” to 01/01/2020 and saves it.
Excel import
There are a few new functions in SeaTable 1.7. One of them is the import function for Excel. This allows you to create new bases based on existing XLSX files. Simply select “Import base (XLSX, CSV, DTABLE)” and navigate to the desired XLSX file. A preview then shows how SeaTable interprets the data. Click on “Save” to create the base and save the data in SeaTable.
Create new bases by importing an excel workbook
Importing XLSX files is an addition to the existing import functions for CSV and DTABLE files. Compared to importing from a CSV file, Excel import has a decisive advantage: all worksheets in an Excel workbook are imported in one go.
