The existence of time zones
In Beijing it is 12 at night, midnight, and there is no sun. In New York it is 12 noon. The sun is at its zenith, although it is difficult to see it under the clouds. In Adelaide, Australia, it is 1:30 in the morning. The sun will not rise for a long time.
