That was not published either

Post by asimj1 »

That is offensive, but in itself would not be a cause for great indignation. Sadly, the photographer of the century, René Burri, recently died. Not least because we knew each other and I admire him, I offered Journal21 an obituary. instead I received a long email from Heiner Hug.

I have been "disturbing" the otherwise prevailing "consensual portugal rcs data spirit" for some time, the publication of Woker's defamatory criticism was, in retrospect, "a mistake", but in my reply I had "denounced" him, "attacked him personally", that was "disloyal". And anyway, they had heard that I might want to publish my reply to Woker elsewhere (which the "Weltwoche" then did), even with "a reference to our journal". In that case, that would not be possible, and until I explain myself on this inquisitorial question, no further articles of mine could be published.

So they wanted to know what I intended to do with a comment that had been rejected, and before I confessed or denied it, they extended the censorship to an obituary for Burri, which really has nothing to do with this petty squabble. It is ashen, musty and has nothing to do with the claim of providing journalistic added value.
