Too many unsecure network connections are creating problems in home offices, experts surveyed by eWEEK say.

We have now lived for a year under the conditions of the first global pandemic in the last 100 years, which has completely turned our world upside down. Nothing has remained the same – in almost every part of our lives. This is especially true for our home and office workplaces, which have become hostages to the pandemic.

Network and device security is naturally the most common concern, with critical business data flowing from companies to kitchen tables 24/7 today. According to the “Status of the Remote Work Cyber Security Landscape 2021” study by Prey, a provider of cross-platform open source anti-theft and management software, 43% of workers will remain remote after the pandemic ends, with two-thirds of IT professionals very concerned about endpoint misuse and security breaches.

This study, like others on the same topic, looks at the morocco mobile database of remote work that have arisen during the pandemic for large numbers of people working from home — away from corporate environments, on unsecured networks that in many cases share data with other unsecured home devices.

“I literally have my lawn sprinkler system on the same network as my laptops,” said a senior executive at a leading IT company. He also said his family has teenagers who use the home network for various gaming sessions.

And these are just some of the "red flags" warning of danger. How many more could there be?
