Trusted Digital Solutions and Platforms: A View from Rosatom
22.12.2023
Trustworthiness of solutions, both in hardware and in software, is still a debatable issue. This term has gained additional relevance after the emergence of an immediate need to reduce the dependence of Russian key infrastructure on the widely implemented solutions of foreign vendors. Currently, many domestic companies are developing such solutions, both for their own use and for the market. Evgeny Dorofeev , Managing Director for Information Security and Trusted Digital Solutions at Rusatom Automated Control Systems, talks about why the development of software platforms is extremely relevant in the strategic perspective and how trusted digital solutions for industry have become a necessity instead of a trend.
The market for trusted solutions for domestic industry is growing, what are the current trends?
The term "power of attorney" is currently used for a variety of solutions with a wide range of applications: from the development of trusted communication and control systems that meet strict requirements for operation at industrial facilities to trusted artificial intelligence concepts. Moreover, if you pay attention to the regulatory side of the issue, the compliance categories in different jurisdictions may be different, as well as the list of necessary evaluation criteria. There is south africa mobile database of opinion here in terms of information security, all solutions must initially meet the "secure-by-design" concept, that is, be initially developed in a secure environment taking into account current cybersecurity requirements.
This is truly a trend that has become a necessity, since in modern conditions an object that is not protected from computer attacks of various kinds cannot even be put into operation.
What trusted solutions are currently being developed at Rosatom? Is there anything that can be offered to the market?
We have accumulated extensive experience and expert knowledge in the field of creating and implementing solutions with a high level of trust, primarily in the nuclear industry, but many of these practices can and should be replicated.
In this regard, various industrial-grade digital solutions are being developed within the Rosatom circuit, some of them in platform logic. This means that a software platform is being created, on which, as on a certain “foundation”, modules with additional functionality can be built to solve various problems. The flagships, of course, are PLM systems; modules of the CAE system for engineering analysis and mathematical modeling “Logos” are being developed in a similar logic. However, for industrial use, not only “heavy” software is needed, but also solutions for control and management systems, ERP systems, even office packages.
