Why bother with keyword grouping?

We don't need to get these people in the mud, and I see that mud being thrown around a lot. People talk about these decisions as if they're information architecture questions, and they make them first, when in reality you should make these decisions first and then pick the best one, as I said, it's a bit more art than science sometimes deciding between longer URLs, more descriptive URLs, or shorter URL paths.
