RIA Novosti's article about what a planetary parade is and where you can watch it.

What is a planetary parade?

A planetary parade is an astronomical phenomenon in which several planets of the Solar System appear on the same line from the Sun with a spread of 20-30 degrees. At the same time, they are more or less close to each other on the celestial sphere.

However, the concept of “parade of planets” is not scientific and is used in astronomy rather for its popularization.

When to watch the planet parade in January 2025

On January 21, 2025, the inhabitants of the Earth japan mobile database will be able to witness a unique phenomenon – a real “dance” of the planets of the Solar System will be visible in the sky. These will include Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and even Neptune – they will all line up in one imaginary line.

Astronomers advise observing the parade of planets from January 21 to 25 during the dark hours of the day.

If, due to circumstances, you were unable to admire such a phenomenon as a parade of planets, do not be upset: you will have another opportunity to do so just a month later – on February 28. At this time, Mercury will join the planets that will be visible on January 21 – that is, in fact, we will be able to see a parade of all the planets of the Solar System (except for Earth, for obvious reasons, and Pluto – it is deprived of the status of a planet). Such a spectacle does not happen often, so those who like to study the starry sky should circle February 28 with a red marker. This is an important day.

The next parade of planets will take place only on August 29, 2025.

In clear weather, this parade can be seen with the naked eye if you drive away from the city. Although with difficulty, you will be able to see Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn - they will look like rather bright small dots. But if you take binoculars or a telescope with you (even an amateur one will do), you will be able to see all six planets in more detail.
