In previous years, it was clear that
the Czech community was gathering and the more experienced ones were presenting their knowledge to the younger,
less experienced, less knowledgeable ones. The main focus was on organizational matters, which
Vašek Stoupa (the one responsible for all of this) was familiar with. I wouldn't see
any problem with that. The quality of the organization was increasing, the quality of the lectures was increasing , and
the number of guests from abroad was increasing. Last year, several English-speaking celebrities appeared on stage
and there was a big halo around it that no one office 365 database would understand them.
The no one was not that big, because last year, by my humble estimate, about 10% of the participants borrowed headphones for translation .
We had a lot to look forward to this year, as shortly after
the end of last year it was announced that the next year would be entirely in
English. We could look forward to a large international participation and people from
large companies who would bring us ("the little guys who are just messing around with small projects")
a lot of knowledge about how it's done outside, how it's done on a large scale and,
most importantly, what to avoid. As a "software developer" marked on my
tag, I was looking forward to it.
So that's what we should have, the organization from
previous years managed to be perfect from previous years, a program with international
participation, support for Aitom with paying perhaps an adequate entrance fee, I'm off!
Three days of the program, but I missed the first one
– it's a networking party on Thursday. A few daredevils network there
, the rest gather in groups of friends and acquaintances. So I know
I can afford to miss the Thursday program. After all, this year I'm all about information.
I arrived on Friday, and guess what? I was very grumpy at the end of the day.
