I believe that this great technological acceleration, which is already invading information management and management systems for the system – even putting an end to unnecessary paper waste – has no turning back. We will still have to live with certain chasms within Brazil for a long time, given the heterogeneity of our hospital network: on one side, modern establishments with cutting-edge technology and, on the other, small establishments struggling to survive in the most remote corners of this immense Brazil.

We have noticed that activities are returning and that patients who had postponed treatments and elective surgeries are returning to hospitals. How do you see this moment for the sector?

This is a time of recovery that has required the Brazilian State, as well as health operators, to take a more strategic look at expanding the provision of services to the population.

We need to keep in mind that the amount of accumulated procedures covers several situations: People who had their appointments and exams canceled during the pandemic; patients who were already oman mobile database undergoing treatment and had to suspend them (many of whom are now experiencing a worsening of their condition); and we also have millions of people who have some kind of after-effect from Covid-19 and who need rehabilitation. Therefore, it is time to think about how to expand the population's access to care throughout the country.

After the period of fighting the coronavirus and the rapid delivery of an effective vaccine, it is possible to notice a greater demand from the population to find solutions for diagnoses and treatments. What is the biggest challenge for regulating innovations in the hospital sector?

I believe that aspects related to safety and reliability have gained emphasis in every sense. People have learned to take better care of themselves and understand basic elements of prevention, such as the importance of simple hand washing.

Therefore, I also believe that the challenge in regulating innovations lies in ensuring the safety of everyone involved in the process: the patient, the healthcare professional, the establishment, the companion.
