IP telephony for food delivery: make friends with a Virtual PBX and a refrigerator.
Andrey Ponomarev, the head of the Health Kitchen project, wrote a column for our blog about how virtual telephony ended up being involved in the "Internet of Things". Simply because the guys think outside the box and go beyond thoughts about integrating IP telephony with CRM or another customer accounting system. However, first things first - let Andrey speak.

Tasks at the start: eliminate delivery, maintain convenience
Eureka: You just need to teach your refrigerator to answer the phone
From idea to implementation: believe in the possible
In March 2016, a global project for the preparation and delivery of chile phone numbers healthy food, "Health Kitchen", was conceived. We offer comprehensive packages of healthy food for the day. The package includes ready-made breakfast, lunch, dinner, and supper. All food is balanced in terms of BJU (note: the ratio of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates), and the packages differ in caloric content - 1200, 1500, and 1800 kcal. A person simply calculates the caloric content needed for himself, using the calculator on the website, and signs up for a subscription on the optimal terms for him.
Initially, it was assumed that the coverage area would be throughout Moscow and the Moscow region.
The goal and objective of the project was to surpass competitors by a head in such parameters as: price, modern style, ease of use and quality of the product. For maximum convenience of our clients, the company's work had to be fully automated - from order to receipt.
The main task was to exclude delivery, which is not cheap in Moscow and takes a decent percentage of the product price. At the same time, delivery had to be mandatory daily, since only in this way can the freshness, taste and useful properties of the product be maximally preserved.
Eureka: You just need to teach your refrigerator to answer the phone
It was decided to install refrigerated terminals to which ready-made packages with healthy food for the whole day would be delivered. And in the future, to distribute them throughout the city, so that it would be as convenient as possible for people to pick up their orders. The scenario is as follows: our restaurant kitchen prepares food in the morning, and then the packages are delivered to the terminals. A person only has to go to the selected terminal in the evening (or the next morning) and pick up their package with food for the next day. Thus, a person not only saves on delivery, but is also not tied to waiting for a courier. The client decides when to pick up the order. At the same time, a person can independently change the pick-up locations in their personal account, depending on where they will be tomorrow evening. And we left delivery to the apartment as an additional option, which the client can choose for an additional fee.
What's next? And then comes the most interesting part: our clients were supposed to be able to open the terminal with one call to the toll-free number 8 800.
