Father's Day is a perfect opportunity to reflect on the impact we have on our children's lives.

For me, being a parent is not just about protecting and caring, but above all, about leading by example.

What do I want my children to see in me? Because that's how they'll remember me and probably how they'll act in their own lives.

Leadership lessons I learned from my father
The greatest reference in my life has been my father, the great Negro Noriega.

He taught me that leadership is not about giving orders, but about inspiring through our actions. His influence has shaped me and made me see leadership in a way that I apply in my personal and professional life. In honor of him, I want to share some of the most valuable lessons I have learned:

10 Lessons from my Father's conversations:
He taught me to put ideas into action:
Is there a better way to learn than by taking action on ideas and putting them into execution? That’s what my father did when I was 10 years old. He made me think, but he also accompanied me on that path. He would have wanted me to be a golf professional. Until 2019 we played golf together and every time I made a good shot he would say to me list of jamaica cell phone numbers “What an idiot you are”… referring to the fact that I would have been successful if I had dedicated myself to that sport. But it’s not about what you want for your children, but about lighting their path. It’s about giving them tools, but in the end, you are the one who walks…

He taught me to set a purpose:
As my father did with each of his five children by challenging them at an early age, I believe that each of us has the opportunity to ask ourselves if we are doing what we have to do, what we want to do and what we should do, if that is the mark we want to leave.

With my dad and Pancho Berdaguer, my best friend, with whom we enjoyed going to Miramar…the result was the least of it…
He taught me the importance of being a leader:
Those first decisions in your life define which way you go. They are vitally important in personal leadership. He helped me understand that life for me is like embarking on a journey. It doesn't matter how fast you go, but that you drive in the right direction.
