On more than one occasion I have brought you creative examples of IKEA advertising , and this is a new case in which they achieve it.

Under the current situation, with the concerns of the health crisis, employment, the economy, etc., sleep is something that is surely difficult to reconcile; there are many brands of medicines and substitutes that “make a killing” with “miracle” products so that we can get some sleep.

Well, in this IKEA advertisement they offer us some “placebo drugs” that promise to put an end to sleepless nights:

Although it is advisable to take at least one comprehensive advertising knowledge course , it is true that to denote the differences between marketing and advertising it will be enough to know certain aspects of these "satellite" disciplines , aspects that I hope will be useful to you.

Within this advertising discipline, we could continue talking about other formulas that act as a “spin-off” , such as the way of presenting discounts, promotions, sales…

However, marketing is a more “large-scale” action ; and it is because it is precisely where advertising comes from…

For an advertising campaign to have its best results, marketing must guide it through the process.
Planning, strategy , execution and measurement equals marketing. Marketing is market research, knowing the how, when, who and why of an action.

If you take into account what you have read so far, we would be talking about advertising as that group of actions of the Marketing Plan , which have the objective of increasing the visibility of the product or service in order to, now or later, try to make a brand known (branding) or increase its sales (€$).



In addition to publishing these creatives in some of their physical stores, they have also placed outdoor advertising in different locations.

Under the slogan “ tomorrow starts tonight” , the Swedish brand wanted to make a nod to the importance of sleep for a full and productive life, and, if they do it this well as always, they will ensure that this campaign remains in our minds for a (long) time.
