Some time ago I gave you a few ideas for your companies and businesses to “make the most” of Black Friday , in an article I called “Ideas for Black Friday in your business” . Now I want to do exactly the opposite; address the issue not from the seller’s point of view, but from the buyer’s.

This “Black Friday” was born in the USA in 1966 , specifically in Philadelphia . It was “baptized” by the police that regulated traffic in the city; as it was the day after Thanksgiving, there were many accidents and traffic jams.

Although in all these “stories” there are always legends that seek other meanings, such as the current trend that says that the term “black” was due to the fact that businesses were coming out of the red at that time…

Wherever the issue comes from, in the USA and increasingly in more countries, such as Spain , Black Friday marks the start of Christmas shopping. There are also iraq telegram data businesses, shops, stores… that take advantage of this date to “get rid” of stock.

In Spain, according to a study by “Idealo” , the profile of people who buy on Black Friday shows that they are practically 50% men (56%) and 50% women (44%), and that almost half are between the ages of 35 and 44.

A report by “Webloyalty” shows that the average spending of Spanish consumers will be €160 this Black Friday. For the first time, the technology section will surpass the fashion section, but they will practically tie in sales.

The same report also reports an increase in the number of purchases of more than 250%; the number of buyers will also increase, with 171% more than the previous year. On that Friday, sales will increase by more than 200% compared to the previous week.

These are certainly data to take into account if you are a seller, but getting back to what we are talking about, on this occasion my advice, as I said before, will be directed to buyers:

1-. Send your letter to the Three Wise Men in advance

It is vital that we sit down a few days before and make a list. Yes, a list like when we go to the supermarket to do the monthly shopping. If we write down what we really need, or what we intend to give as a gift in just a few weeks, we will not suffer from the “compulsive buyer” syndrome .

Just because it's on sale doesn't mean you have to buy it...

2-. Watch out for Amazon Black Friday…

The American giant has already announced that it will launch promotions in its most prominent sections. My recommendation is that, if you don't have "Amazon Prime" , you get it. It only costs €36 a year , and in addition to having several advantages such as watching series, films, music, etc. without paying, you will have thousands of items with free shipping and in a single day.

As if that were not enough, for this event, Amazon Prime will allow you to view and access the promotions half an hour before everyone else, so you will have fewer problems with “web traffic” or stockouts.
