Posted: Sun Jan 19, 2025 5:11 am
In March, Google announced a global update to the algorithms responsible for checking the quality of content and warned that sites could be seriously "stormed." The company expected a 40% reduction in useless pages in search results.
Also in March, spam detection systems were updated, SpamBrain was improved, and three new rules came into effect:
You can't abuse the reputation of a domain . This refers to cases where you buy a reputable drop domain and post content on it that is of no value to users.
You can't abuse the reputation of a site - this applies to cases when an authoritative resource posts some kind of partner, advertising or other third-party content that does not correspond to the subject of the project and the needs of the audience.
Content scaling is unacceptable . You should not create a large number of pages that are of no particular use to people, and their main purpose is to manipulate search engines. This includes copied tunisia phone number material content, as well as content created automatically, including with the help of neural networks.
The last rule is related to the use of neural networks to generate content. As a result of the update, some sites have significantly dropped in traffic, especially those that were actively filled with AI texts. At the same time, Google emphasizes that neural networks themselves are not prohibited, but the usefulness and quality of the material should come first.
There was another Spam Update in June. It was aimed at stopping violations of the spam rules - we recommend you read them in full.
