Valentin Makarov presented part of a study of the software development industry, which Russoft conducts annually, during the national forum "Applied Artificial Intelligence: Solutions for Explosive Growth of Economic Development. The Future is Today". 303 companies participated in it. Valentin Makarov's report was devoted to the development of artificial intelligence (AI) in Russia in 2024.
According to the bahamas whatsapp number database study, 46.4% of Russoft member companies supply AI solutions to industrial sectors; 42% to the transport sector; 37.7% to medicine; 34.8% each to the oil and gas, banking, and public administration sectors. Valentin Makarov particularly noted industrial AI, stating that it will continue to grow, but for now it is "only gaining strength."
In 2024, the share of companies with specialists with competencies and expertise in the field of AI increased - their share was 54.8%, compared to 46.6% in 2023. Also this year, the number of Russoft member companies involved in AI has grown significantly - now there are 140 of them, while in 2023 there were 109.
- twice as much as last year. 19.8% of companies use generative AI in software development.
The productivity of technical specialists is increasing at the same rate. However, there is no talk of generative AI completely replacing software developers. "Company directors are skeptical about this, because it is impossible to exclude humans," explained Valentin Makarov.
If we single out companies that are already using or planning to use generative AI in software development in 2024, they will see an increase in the contribution of AI to the implementation of projects from the staff of specialized technical employees: in 2024, this figure was 11.8% compared to 7.8% in 2023 and 4.2% in 2022. "That is, part of the work, namely 11%, is done by artificial intelligence, and not software developers. And the percentage is constantly growing, catastrophically fast. This is an important factor in increasing the efficiency of programmers," said Valentin Makarov.
Among the trends of 2024 in the application and implementation of AI in Russia, Valentin Makarov named the expansion of the regulatory framework for AI, an increase in the number of experimental legal regimes and pilot projects for the use of AI, an increase in the percentage of AI in development, the widespread implementation of AI in all areas of the economy, an increase in the number of companies using AI in development and international projects for the development and implementation of solutions using AI.
In general, in 2024, the widespread implementation of artificial intelligence in business processes is the main trend in the IT industry, according to the opinion of Russoft members.
"Artificial intelligence is no longer a toy, but is becoming a serious tool in the hands of the state, industry, business, and banks," says Valentin Makarov. "Wherever we use artificial intelligence, it has the potential to significantly increase efficiency."
