In December, Rambler went to court, finding that NGINX had violated its exclusive rights to the web server, but in April 2020, the Russian prosecutor's office closed the case. In the spring of 2021, Rambler's former owner, Alexander Mamut, through the Cypriot offshore company Lynwood Investments CY Ltd, which he controls, filed a lawsuit in the Northern District of California (San Jose branch) against NGINX, F5 Networks, Igor Sysoev, Maxim Konovalov, as well as the E.Venture Capital Partners and Runa Capital funds, demanding $750 million in damages. However, the California court dismissed the lawsuit in June 2021.
