Getting involved in the area, listening to your community and collaborating. This was the motto of the second edition of the local information festival held at the end of September. Despite the economic difficulties, there is real interest in local information. This is good news for professionals who are adjusting their strategy in order to try to develop more sustainable economic models.
Maintaining interest and trust in local information
Local journalism strengthens the reader's sense of belonging to a community. It provides them with useful information for their daily lives. It helps them think about the evolution of their city and society. “ Journalism from big cities is not enough. In the absence of local investigation, there is a risk of having a poor perception of society. There are many examples: the Yellow Vests in France, Brexit in Great Britain, the election of Trump in the United States,” recalls Rasmus Kleis Nielsen, Director of the Reuters Institute.
