How to use labels to segment your ads

Post by shaownhasan »

As the target of the ad groups, we will choose the custom labels.

The result we want to achieve is to create an ad group for each label we have inserted in the feed. By doing so, we will find ourselves managing well-segmented ad groups, containing a specific niche of products. This will allow us to have good control over the CPC and negative keywords.

In the example we saw before, we used the label to define the category the product belongs to. So, referring to the example above, we choose to create an ad group for products that belong to the Nike brand and are in the the benefits of using our teacher database Shoes > Sneakers category.

To do this, we insert the nike_shoes_sneakers label as the target label. Here's how:

This way, we got an ad group that only groups products labeled with nike_sneakers_shoes .

All we have to do is specify an offer and add the text part of the ad (max 80 characters).

As for the ad , remember that it will be common for all products that belong to that group (in this case nike_scarpe_sneakers ), so I suggest structuring the ad copy so that it does not refer to just one particular product.

Regarding campaign creation, I want to give you another tip. If you manage a product catalog with thousands of items and hundreds of brands, you will probably find yourself with a lot of custom labels and consequently with just as many groups to create.

To speed up the creation of ad groups, you can use AdWords Editor . Thanks to the latter, you will be able to quickly create all the ad groups, working first on Excel and then importing into AdWords Editor and then into Adwords.
