The findings presented are based on a Gartner study conducted to understand AI adoption and investment plans in digital commerce. This study also sought to understand the value and success of AI in digital commerce and its challenges. The primary study was conducted online from June 4 to July 17, 2018 among 307 respondents in North America, Latin America, Western Europe and Asia/Pacific.

Qualified companies come from a variety of industries. Healthcare companies were not surveyed. Qualifying criteria included that companies have a primary digital commerce technology approach as a “custom built commerce platform” or “packag brazil telegram data ed commerce software solution” with a portion (>$0USD) of revenue generated from digital channels in fiscal year 2017. Companies also had to use or pilot AI in their digital commerce. The sample represents companies in the US/Canada (n=86), Brazil (n=35), France (n=30), Germany (n=31), UK (n=30), Australia/New Zealand (n=30), India (n=33), and China (n=32). All respondents were screened for involvement in strategic digital commerce decisions within their company. Quotas were requested for country, industry, and company-wide revenue from digital channels for fiscal year 2017.

The study was developed by Gartner analysts and the Primary Research Team in collaboration with Commerce Technologies & Experiences.
