Innovation: digital healthcare

Post by Bappy11 »

The latter seems to be true, as Russia’s leading tech company Yandex announced the launch of Yandex Go . This is the first European super app. Meanwhile: ‘Western’ companies like Amazon, Facebook and Google have active super app-like products in Asia to compete with the local products. These are products that they would also like to roll out on the European market.

So we have to ask ourselves: will this be the year we see the first European super app? Or is there too much of a disconnect between our ‘Western’ cultural habits and other parts of the world? We’ll leave that open for now. But the fact is that consumer behaviour and the acceptance of digital technologies have evolved enormously over the past year…

To say that healthcare was an incredibly important industry last year would be quite the understatement. whatsapp number list But even before 2020, healthcare was seen as a space in need of digitally driven innovation. However, due to its size, complexity, and need for privacy and confidentiality, digital innovation in healthcare has proven to be a tough nut to crack. While the work of the medical field is inherently people-centric, the industry can often feel soulless and far from “people-centric.”

Given the events of last year, perhaps now is the time to accelerate digital innovation in healthcare . The urgency is certainly there, as evidenced by the shortcomings in pandemic-related healthcare delivery. And the frequent postponement of ‘routine’ healthcare due to infrastructure needs, an aging population, and increased labor costs due to staff shortages.

How do we deal with this?
Hopefully, embracing digital technology that enables more efficient and human interactions can be part of the solution. Overall, the trend seems pretty clear: more and more of our healthcare interactions will take place via screens. This only increases the need to design human-centric systems. When done right, digital solutions with human-centric design can truly help people take control of their own health. When done poorly, however, digitalization can backfire and reinforce the sterile interactions that healthcare is notorious for.
