Google to retire expanded text ads in favour of ad automation

SNew changes coming to Google Ads have been announced : starting June 30, 2022, advertisers will no longer be able to create new expanded text ads or edit existing ones on their platform, with priority being given to responsive search ads that allow automation using Google's machine learning technology.


Goodbye to expanded text ads on Google
For many years, Google has been promoting the creation of expanded text ads that include two title fields and a broader description of the advertising message displayed in search results. However, as in other malaysia business email database sectors, innovation has reached the advertising arena with responsive ads and ad automation, which allows for greater efficiency in generating specific ads that can adapt to users' browsing history.

As Google explains, “ Your existing expanded text ads will continue to run alongside search and responsive ads, and you’ll continue to get reports on their performance going forward. You’ll also be able to pause and resume your expanded text ads or delete them if needed. You’ll also be able to create and edit call-to-action ads and dynamic search ads.” However, you won’t be able to create new expanded text ads in the system.
