"In 2005, we entered this market with Eset, and then the picture was exactly the same - Kaspersky and Dr.Web. We've been through this and know how to act. It also helps that our product range consists of more than just antivirus software - we can approach a client with one solution and then offer another. If we're talking about market share, we're aiming for the maximum possible," says ComNews' interlocutor.
PRO32 stands apart from modern cyprus whatsapp number database Russian trends, including in the IT sphere - to seek state help in everything. The company's products are included in the Register of Russian software, with the exception of the main one - antivirus. The company strives to get into the register, but does not connect the future with the state, offering a purely commercial product.
to receive grants and subsidies, but we did not strive for this. A business must be healthy, and this is one that has grown itself, having gone through hardships and adversity. Real help from the state is PRO32 being included in the Register of Russian software, as well as many state clients who will buy our solution on equal terms," Igor Mandik concluded.
Strategic Director for IT Products and Services at PRO32, Ruslan Suleimanov, speaking to ComNews about the software on which PRO32 is based, in particular, warned against the indiscriminate use of open-source software - another trend in the context of sanctions.
"For some reason, it is believed that using open source solutions inside a product is safe by default, supposedly because the community behind them ensures timely elimination of bugs and errors. But in the current reality, this is not so. Some products are directly prohibited for use in Russia, in violation of the traditions of the open source culture, which initially does not imply restrictions in the form of commercial or political barriers. This is a sad fact. Therefore, such software must be checked for security. Otherwise, you can get a vulnerability in the supply chain. But it would be stupid to say that we can handle all the tasks alone and oppose ourselves to the open source community. Yes, Russian developers are top, but it is also necessary to use open programs that have been tested for decades. But you need to be guided by the principle of "trust, but verify," warns Ruslan Suleimanov.
The strategic director believes that over time the company will be able to regain Eset's former position in Russia - to take second place in the antivirus software market.
Deputy General Director for Science and Development of JSC Information Implementation Company (IVK) Valery Andreev named several conditions to ComNews, under which PRO32 antiviruses can take a share of the Russian market.
1. The software product must undergo certification by the regulator as a means of information protection and the procedure for inclusion in the Unified Register of Russian Software, since antiviruses are means of ensuring information security.
2. The developer must confirm the legitimate exclusive right to the software product. In this case, to the "Indian core". Without this, the antivirus will not be included in the registry and will not be able to participate in public procurement tenders, which will significantly limit the area of its distribution.
3. The developer is obliged to support the product 24/7. Update signature databases, which must be comparable with the databases of leading Russian antivirus developers.
4. The software product must be compatible with Russian operating systems. And first of all, the market leaders - Alt OS, Astra Linux, RED OS. The more OS the product is compatible with, the more competitive it is.
