Problems with data verification may mainly arise for elderly people, says Denis Kuskov, head of TelecomDaily. In his opinion, a situation may arise when such subscribers will not be able to come to the salon, there will be no one to help them, and the person does not use the Internet. For such isolated cases, it makes sense for operators to organize home visits, the expert believes.
SIM cards will be insignificant - the guatemala whatsapp resource number of SIM cards in the gray zone does not exceed 2%. But the problem is that today it is still possible to buy a SIM card without identifying a person, for example, at train stations, says the head of TelecomDaily. "The process of updating the data is underway, but people continue to connect using fake information. The check will reach them later, and in the meantime they will be able to engage in illegal activities. It turns out that the number of gray SIM cards is supported by further illegal sales," he points out.
At the same time, Kuskov believes that some of the identified problematic SIM cards are no longer in use, while Murtazin believes that all of them are active.
iKS-Consulting analyst Maxim Savvatin notes that there is no data yet on the reduction of the subscriber base against the background of data updating, the information "comes with a time lag", and data for 2023 will be available in the spring of 2024.
The current year will be decisive for reducing the number of gray SIM cards, Anton Nemkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications, told RBK. According to him, it will be possible to fully assess the results of the system's work only after the verification process of subscriber information is completed. The deputy reported that on average, about 3 million records are corrected per week. According to Roskomnadzor data, to which Nemkin refers, since 2018, a total of more than 423 thousand gray SIM cards have been seized, of which 152 thousand in 2022.
According to the representative of the Ministry of Digital Development, users should not have any difficulties confirming their personal data, as there are several ways to do this: you can use the option on the State Services portal, confirm the information through the application, the online account of the telecom operator, or come to the communication salon in person. He recalled that blocking is needed to combat dishonest or inactive subscribers: unregistered SIM cards or those registered to third parties are often used for telephone fraud and spam. The representative of the Ministry of Digital Development did not predict how many subscribers may ultimately be disconnected from communication as a result of the check.
As of today, the number of grey SIM cards has been reduced to a minimum, a MegaFon representative told RBC. The operator continues to inform subscribers about the need to confirm their data. Representatives of MTS, T2 RTK Holding (Tele2 brand) and VimpelCom (Beeline) declined to comment
According to Kuskov, the losses of telecom operators from disconnected
