Microsoft Project Tutorial
" The type of activity Microsoft Project is a difficult subject to approach. "
In Microsoft Project automatic mode, you need to know how to handle tasks as the project evolves.
To do this, the project has defined three types of activities, which we will describe in this article.
Table of Contents
Automatic and manual modes
Fixed period
Permanent employment
Fixed unit
Resource-based and non-resource-based activities
Example
Fixed duration is not dependent on resources

Automatic and manual modes
In Microsoft Project, for automatic mode , there are three types of activities:
Fixed period
Permanent employment
Fixed unit
Activities in manual mode do not have an activity type.
Fixed period
An activity is said to be of fixed duration when, regardless of the number of work resources (people) assigned to it, its duration does not change.
If we assign one, two, three, one hundred people to an activity with a fixed switzerland rcs data duration of five days, its duration is always five days. What changes is the amount of work hours and therefore the cost of resources required to complete the activity.
Permanent employment
An activity is called fixed work when the work (total amount of hours worked) remains constant, in fact fixed. What can change is the duration of the activity.
Fixed unit
Perhaps the most difficult to understand. An activity is said to be a fixed unit when the maximum unit of resource assigned to it does not change. If we assign Giovanni full time (5% of his maximum unit) for an activity that lasts 100 days, Giovanni will work "fixed" hours, i.e. 8 hours a day for the entire duration of the activity.
