All of this is being developed with the help of artificial intelligence and will certainly also be controlled in part. The rapidly advancing miniaturization of processors, the ever-increasing micro-memory and the almost inexhaustible number of sensors: the fundamentals are continuing to develop while this text is being written.
then expanded in subsequent steps to include a direct connection to AI, and ultimately catapulted to a new level of performance with the help of DNA-based BIO-AI. We will not only be able to access all of the world's knowledge at any time, we will also be able to apply it. From this point on, there will be no more restrictions on our development.
However, if we allow such a utopia to sink in, many new questions bc data arise, and most of them will be difficult, if not impossible, to answer, and will require great effort.
Questions that arise from this:
What moral foundations will we establish, and will they apply to all of humanity or just to a few wealthy individuals or corporations?
How do we protect ourselves against abuse, bias and racism?
How can we ensure that developments are used to the benefit of humanity and who will evaluate this?
From Utopia to Dystopia
Unfortunately, people are not always good. There are still repressive regimes today and there is no sign that this will change any time soon. Despite all efforts, new technologies are displacing values such as privacy. On the contrary, they are creating the means for complete control over people.
AI-controlled object recognition can already find and track not only individuals within large groups, but also changing group dynamics (e.g. at meetings and protests) can already be predicted in initial model tests. If we imagine these evaluation, assessment and control options in combination with armed drones, we quickly have a very bleak scenario.
But such a process would at least be visible to the outside world and could thus lead to resistance to the spread of these technologies. Much more difficult and far more powerful are the possibilities of implicit control via messages and well-known principles such as action and reaction: I do something - the system rewards or punishes me. Our news flow is already being deliberately manipulated. The approaches are already evident in modern marketing, advertising and politics, and they are being used. I showed here some time ago how bots can already manipulate communication via modern media.
