A selection of the newsletters I am currently subscribed to (updated April 2018)

Post by samiul123 »

Apart from the many annoying newsletters that I never ordered and often unsubscribe from again and again to no avail, I deliberately receive a whole series of newsletters. I have put together just a few examples here. I will add to this list in the coming weeks as new, interesting emails land in my electronic mailbox. (Note: This is my personal selection. I do not receive any payment or other service from any of the providers for mentioning and linking to them!)

One of my main daily news sources is the Social Media Watchblog newsletter: a really great free service that you can get here . (Update April 2017: Unfortunately, this very valuable service is on hiatus. I hope it will be resumed soon and will post a note here when it is resumed.)

Although it is apparently largely automatically generated, I think the content curation in the daily news from XING , which you can also subscribe to by email, is quite well done. I delete many of them without reading them, but there are always one or two interesting links in there.

XING News

As a member of Digital Media Women, I have subscribed to their newsletter and receive event information from two chapters – Cologne and Hamburg – that I am particularly close to.

I find out what financial topics are currently relevant from the beautifully designed financial tip by Hermann-Josef Tenhagen , which is not always interesting for me but has given me one or two food for thought.

Newsletter Finanztip

In fact, I have recently added a number of newsletters, partly based on recommendations from my network. Daniel Fiene is contributing to the new “Golden Blogger” newsletter and promises “fluff around the German blogosphere.

In his newsletter, Christian Dingler not only focuses on communication topics, but also speaks openly about (socio)political issues.

My colleague Maren Martschenko writes a newsletter that is well worth reading .

I have also subscribed to the t3n newsletter and of course to UPLOAD magazine , for which I also write.

Several other newsletters come from colleagues, for example that of my Swiss colleague Marie-Christine Schindler . This is simply a notification about new blog posts, and the whole thing is presented accordingly sparingly. But the articles are always high quality and exciting, and I don't want to miss any of them.

Of course, I have subscribed to the newsletter of Thomas Schwenke, quoted above .
Other newsletters that I read regularly:
turi 2

Nieman Journalism Lab

Statista Infographic Ticker

Newsletter PR-Journal

Social Media Watchblog

Even in my private life, as a consumer, I unfortunately receive a linkedin data newsletter from pretty much every mail order company I have ever ordered from and from every airline I have ever flown with - often without asking. I unsubscribe from most of them straight away. One of the few exceptions is the newsletter from Lands End , one of my favorite suppliers of basics like blouses and T-shirts. The frequency is - although supposedly adjustable - downright nerve-wracking. But I solve this by using a filter rule in my Outlook, which I use to direct all newsletters directly to different subfolders. Because these often contain very attractive discounts and offers.
