How to prepare a good executive summary? They are generally required in application forms for public and private funding. The executive summary is essential because it is the gateway to the project. It is like the appetizer! and its objective is to convince the reader and arouse their interest in the project.
What elements must be present?
The executive summary should capture all the dimensions of the project, but in a summarized manner. Often we have a maximum number of characters to respond, so we must be precise and clear, but above all we must answer what we are asked, that is, we cannot fail to include:
Project Description. Do not forget to mention the name of the project, its purpose or goal, explain who the beneficiaries are and what their vulnerability is, where the project will be carried out and the different stages of execution (if any).
Why it is necessary to do it. Explain the vulnerability of the beneficiaries and the solution we propose, in other words, the need or problem vs. our solution to contribute to improving said condition.
What we are trying to achieve. Here we can explain to what extent the problem or need will be solved. In addition, we can delve into the added value of our project, why our solution is different from others, how it will be sustained over time, if there are alliances involved and/or collaboration from other institutions, organizations or companies.
