Security Tales: Attack on Integrity and Availability
Vladimir Bezmaly | 21.03.2018
Little Zaika came home from school gloomy and to all questions about how he was doing, he answered in monosyllables that everything was fine. In reality, everything was not as good as he said, but why should Mom know about that? Yesterday he ran and played with his friends so much that he simply forgot to do his homework. And today, as luck would have it, he was called to the board. So he got a bad grade.

And then Zayka decided to cheat, simply tearing out a page from the diary. And now he was very worried about this. How would his mother take it? He decided not to say anything. And to tell later, when he corrected the bad mark.

- Honey, what happened? Why are you so gloomy? If it's because of a bad grade in physics at school, then don't despair, you'll fix it! I know you haven't learned your lessons.

- Yes, yes, of course I didn't! And I even tore a italy mobile database out of my diary! I know.

- But from where?

- It's simple. Do you know what dad calls such actions in his incomprehensible adult language? You remember what he does for a living, right?

- Yes, of course I remember. Our dad is the head of the information security department.

- Yes, yes. So here it is! He says that this is an attack on the integrity and availability of information and that it is very bad!

- How do you know that I tore out the page?

- Because I, again, in dad's terms, always double-check the information I receive through several independent channels. I just called Auntie Sova, your teacher, and she told me everything. If you don't want to be attacked in the future the way you attacked me today, always use several independent communication channels. Then you'll be able to receive objective information. Got it?
