Vest known for its B2B data center

Telecom companies won't be offering 5G services to the mass market for some time, but Wi-Fi 6E devices have been available for over a year and are much more powerful than the older 2.4 and 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi systems that are common in home networks.

VMware, product line but not for its home products, is reinventing itself. As early as April, the company will roll out a new remote workspace platform with its Workspace One suite at its core.

Sanjay Uppal, who joined VMware three years ago in connection with the acquisition of SD-WAN maker VeloCloud Networks, now leads the company's new division focused on SASE, service providers, and edge computing. "A lot of applications are becoming natively edge-based," he said.

"When a company with, say, 5,000 employees had to move azerbaijan whatsapp data of its offices to homes or coffee shops, suddenly there were a lot more connections than you wanted. You had to worry about flexibility in work, and also about the productivity of all these displaced people," Uppal said.

VMware could try to solve all the networking problems of enterprises, service providers and work-from-anywhere workers by combining its existing products, he said.

Network modernization is in full swing
Many decision makers are already upgrading their networks to accommodate the future of SD-WAN, Wi-Fi 6, and 5G. The speed at which data flows to and from where computing happens has never been more important to businesses, both local and global.

Wi-Fi 6, for example, delivers faster speeds, lower latency, and eliminates familiar Wi-Fi limitations. The relatively low 6GHz frequency means the compromises associated with legacy devices are gone, allowing Wi-Fi to be used anywhere in an office or on a factory floor.
