What should be considered when planning costs and resources?

Post by Bappy11 »

Let's start with the definition of the term resource. According to DIN 69901, a "resource" in project management refers to a means necessary for carrying out a task. "Resource" is a generic term for both employees and material or financial resources. And it is precisely these resources or means of deployment that need to be planned as efficiently and effectively as possible in the interests of project success.

To help your company, we have created a free cost and resource planning Excel template for you.

Before cost and resource planning, as with the Gantt chart, a project structure plan must first be created and the individual processes put into a sequence. Now the processing effort for each process must be estimated.

If you need help setting up a work breakdown structure, check out our blog post on the subject.
Once the effort has been estimated, resources and/or team members can be assigned to the turkey telegram data individual tasks. This assignment is best done by the project manager together with the team. Once this has been done for the next planning phase (e.g. milestone or sprint), you should take a closer look at the load profile of each resource. Is a machine being used in parallel by mistake or has a team member been over- or under-planned? If this is the case, you need to adjust your planning or rethink your resource allocation.
