Diversity in the workplace is a crucial factor for success and innovation in companies. In Brazil, a survey conducted by the Ethos Institute revealed that 59.3% of participating companies conduct internal censuses periodically.
These censuses include analyses of employee profiles and trajectories, with an emphasis on racial, gender, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity and generational data. However, there is still much to be done for all companies to adopt inclusive and comprehensive practices.
With this in mind, BigDataCorp has developed an exclusive dataset that seeks to objectively measure the diversity of companies. This article presents the corporate diversity dataset , explaining its importance and how it can be a fundamental tool for decision-making and company analysis.
Through this initiative, we seek to encourage a more open and diverse corporate culture, promoting a work environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Check it out!
What is the diversity dataset?
BigDataCorp's diversity dataset is a product that was developed to offer a series of mathematical and objective measures of the diversity present within a company, going beyond traditional markers (gender, race, sexual orientation) for a more complete view .
With this dataset, companies can include russia phone number diversity criteria in their supplier, customer and business partner analysis processes, ensuring compliance with strategic ESG objectives without having to add complexity and friction to the relationship with these companies.
The data used for this assessment is publicly available socio-demographic, economic and behavioral information collected by BigDataCorp about companies, their employees, partners and related individuals. All data is processed in a completely anonymous manner to construct diversity scores. Advanced statistical models are applied to this data to map how diverse (different, distinct) people are, arriving at a clear and quantified measurement for the company as a whole. This provides actionable data for the decision-making process.
How is the overall score calculated?
The diversity score is calculated by analyzing the individuals directly or indirectly associated with the company. Each person is converted into an anonymous data vector, a mathematical representation of all their individual attributes. Different n-dimensional distance measures are then calculated between each of these vectors. The distribution of the calculated distances is then evaluated, arriving at an “average distance” for the population as a whole. The idea is that the “closer” all the people associated with the company are on these dimensions, the less diverse the company is.
To simplify data analysis, this distance measure is converted to a score ranging from zero to one, where zero represents a company that is not at all diverse, and 1 a company where all the people are completely different and diverse.
The calculations are performed in detail to ensure the accuracy of the information returned. The score can be calculated for an individual CNPJ, or for all the headquarters and branches of a company at once.
While diversity measures are applicable to any type of company, they are most accurate and meaningful for companies with more than 100 employees. As a data protection measure, diversity indicators are not calculated if there is a large amount of missing data within the company-related population.
Through this methodology, BigDataCorp's corporate diversity dataset offers a clear and comprehensive view of diversity in companies, supporting ESG analyses of customers, suppliers and companies in general.
