There is a ready-to-use image block in the WordPress block editor. Simply add the block and then upload an image file or select it from the media library.

You can also drag and drop images from your computer and the editor will automatically create an image block.

Once you add an image, you will see the block settings where you can add metadata for the image such as the alt text , image resolution size, and adding a link to the image.

2. Adding a link in the block editor

The Block Editor has several blocks that you can insert text into. The most commonly used block is the Paragraph block, which has an Insert Link button in the toolbar.

All other frequently used text blocks also have a shortcut button in the toolbar.

3. Adding an image gallery in Gutenberg

The Gallery block works like the Image block. You add it and then upload or select image files.

All your shortcodes will work just like in the classic editor. You can simply insert them into a paragraph block or use the shortcode block.
